The Indiana Pacers fell behind by 20 for the fifth straight game, this time to the New York Knicks, poor shooting, a hot opposition putting them down 41-21 in the second quarter. In an effort to get a spark, the Pacers defense shifted into a zone, and ran off a 19-6 run to close the half, cutting the deficit to seven.
Carmelo Anthony scored New York's opening 13, but was limited the rest of the half, getting just two points the rest of the half. The Pacers have had to contend with Chris Copeland, who has 12 on 5-8 shooting. For Indiana, Lance Stephenson has been big, scoring 13 for the blue and gold. The Pacers have six three pointers in the first half, but have struggled with offensive fouls and turnovers, committing 12, giving New York a 14-1 advantage. Indiana did only have three in the second quarter.
