The Indiana Pacers begin a big pair of important games this weekend on Friday night when they host the Brooklyn Nets before swapping NYC boroughs to take on the New York Knicks on Sunday in Manhattan.
First thing first, though as the Pacers have a chance to lock up the No. 3 spot in the East with a win over the Nets and keep hopes alive for making up the two games needed to slip past the Knicks at the finish line for the No. 2 spot.
The Nets are coming off of an impressive win at Boston on Wednesday but one that they finished without Gerald Wallace. The dynamic forward lived up to his nickname, 'Crash' by being helped off the floor with a heel contusion that has him day-to-day while headed to Indy. If Wallace can't go, Jerry Stackhouse will step into the lineup.
The Pacers will try to build on their fourth-quarter comeback over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday by trying to string together four quarters of solid play against a real, live playoff opponent. An opponents, by the way, that the Pacers have yet to beat, losing both prior meetings against the Nets.
