Once again, the Pacers don't expect to have David West available due to a lower back injury that has forced the forward to miss the past four games. That sets up a clash of styles at power forward tonight where Atlanta's Josh Smith will tangle with Tyler Hansbrough. Actually, if there is any tangling going on, Hansbrough will be winning the matchup, so I guess Smith will do his best to steer clear and fly above Hansbrough.
The Hawks beat Milwaukee on Sunday night but may have lost guard Devin Harris in the process. Harris left the game early and will not be available to face the Pacers. That puts former Pacers reserve guard Dahntay Jones into the starting lineup which would be entertaining if Lance Stephenson was playing, but Stephenson is out with a hip flexor strain. George Hill is also out with a groin strain which puts D.J. Augustin and Gerald Green in the starting lineup for the Pacers.
Along with former Pike PG, Jeff Teague, the Hawks will have former Butler star Shelvin Mack on the roster thanks to a recent 10-day contract. With Harris out, Mack could see some time tonight and may stick with the Hawks for the rest of the season.
As usual, the Pacers have to defend like muthas and then get some home cookin' going on the offensive end. The Pacers need a win to even up the season series just in case the two teams end the regular season in a tie.
