After getting knocked down a peg or two on Sunday in Miami and then taking a close, hard and long look at the problem areas uncovered on South Beach, the Indiana Pacers should be excited to move on and face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
The T'Wolves appear to be the perfect foil for a feel-good return to action for the Pacers, especially since Minnesota will be playing the latter half of back-to-back games. But then you look up from the stats and see that the Timberwolves smoked the San Antonio Spurs last night, 107-83.
Granted, the Spurs played without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard, but top team in the West found no sympathy in Minny since the Wolves were still playing with out (sit down, this could take awhile) Kevin Love, Andrei Kirilenko, Nikola Pekovic and Chase Buddinger.
After losing eight of their previous nine games, Minnesota surely had no interest in qualifying the W on Tuesday. Ricky Rubio turned in a magnificent triple double and you have to figure Minny will take that win and bring that what-the-hell-we-got-nothing-to-lose-let's-go spirit with them to the Fieldhouse, which should help keep the Pacers attention focused on the task in front of them on Wednesday night.
