The Indiana Pacers will be down a big man when they face the Los Angeles Clippers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday. Center Roy Hibbert will serve his one game suspension against the Clips, leaving Ian Mahinmi to start in the middle for the blue and gold.
The timing for Big Roy's suspension could certainly be better. The Cilps are a team that presents a long and active front court so the Pacers will miss Hibbert's length around the rim, not to mention his six fouls. Mahinmi can struggle with foul trouble at times which normally isn't an issue in his role off the bench.
DeAndre Jordan will present a challenge for Mahinmi to avoid foul trouble and/or posing for a poster. Jeff Pendergraph and Tyler Hansbrough will be on feather ruffling duty in the front court which should be entertaining with Blake Griffin since he likes to play his game with a fine whine.
Oh, and then there's Chris Paul who specializes in making opponents pay for turnovers. While both teams boast plenty of high flyers, defense will be the key which is the main reason both teams are strong contenders in their respective conferences.
