The Indiana Pacers are 2-1 against the Charlotte Bobcats so far this year, finishing strong to beat the Bobcats in their last visit to the Fieldhouse in mid-January. Three nights later the Pacers rolled past Charlotte by 27 points on the road to avenge a road loss in their second game of the season.
The Pacers' hopes to give Danny Granger some run against Charlotte were dashed when the ever-present NBA flu bug intervened to keep Granger away from the Fieldhouse on Wednesday morning. David West also came up questionable as he continues to deal with a bothersome eye scratch suffered early Monday night against Brooklyn and will not play. Tyler Hansbrough will start with Jeff Pendergraph getting a similar allotment of minutes at PF.
Charlotte should be feeling pretty good heading toward the opening tip after halting the seven-game winning streak of the Boston Celtics in their last outing. Byron Mullens got busy on Brandon Bass for 25 points and 18 rebounds so I'm sure Mullens would appreciate DWest taking the night off.
Pacers All-Star Paul George should be amped up to put his offensive game against the Nets behind him and fire up his scoring touch for his time in the spotlight this weekend in Houston.
