The Indiana Pacers lost David West a minute into the game when he was scratched in the eye by Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets. He didn't return, his status is currently listed as questionable, and the first quarter offense of the Pacers was a nightmare because Paul George couldn't hit a shot, and they couldn't simply dump it into West for an easy two, giving Indiana 13 first quarter points.
But Indiana got a lift from an unlikely player in the second quarter as Jeff Pendergraph put the offense on his back, salvaging a bad run with 10 points and seven rebounds. Roy Hibbert had eight and six in the first half on 4-13 shooting, a number of his misses coming on offensive rebounds. In the first quarter, the Pacers had seven offensive rebounds, but zero second chance points. They scored eight second chance points off of five second quarter offensive rebounds.
