The Pacers are back in action on Wednesday night to play the Utah Jazz at the house of horrors that is EngerySolutions Arena. The Pacers have failed to win in their previous six trips to Salt Lake City.
Since the Pacers missed the trip during the lockout season, the last win came on November 29, 2005 prior to the 2005-06 season going off the rails leading to a Ronnie Artest trade and the brief, non-descript Peja Stojakovic era. In that game, Jermaine O'Neal led the way with 21 points and 15 rebounds with Sarunas Jasikevicius pitching in eight points off the bench.
Appreciate the present, folks.
The Jazz struggled out of the gate but have won three of their last four games which includes wins over Chicago and Houston, so don't go counting your W's too soon. Gordon Hayward leads the Jazz in scoring with 17 points per game and rookie Trey Burke has provided a boost tipping off his NBA career late after dealing with a broken finger. Burke has played in the last seven games and the team is 3-2 since he was inserted in the starting lineup.
