2013 has been very good to the Pacers but the Blue and Gold are looking to make 2014 even better. But before the new year begins, the Pacers will try to squeeze in one more win at the Fieldhouse when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers in an afternoon game tipping off at 3 p.m. ET.
The Pacers ran away from the Cavs in their first meeting way back on Nov. 2 in the third game of the year for both teams. George Hill missed that game with a sore hip but the Pacers closed strong riding 22 points from Lance Stephenson and 21 from Paul George. Seems safe to say those two will have a similar impact on the game today.
The Cavs are working through some Andrew Bynum drama off the floor and a five-game losing streak on it. Two of the last three losses were in overtime and the third was a three-point loss on the road at Boston. Cleveland has been employing a hefty front court of late starting both Tristan Thompson and Earl Clark at forward along with the active Anderson Varejao in the middle. Paul George will have to create a mismatch to favor the Pacers while Roy Hibbert will need to hold his ground and avoid foul trouble.
