Allow me some time here to catch up after a round of holiday travel kept me busy over the weekend. Of course, the weekend included another Pacers win over the Brooklyn Nets which required a bit more effort than the win in Brooklyn earlier in the week.
The Pacers didn't make any new friends among the Nets either with Lance Stephenson irritating Paul Pierce much of the night and Roy Hibbert taking exception to the typical post malfeasance delivered by Reggie Evans. Bottom line was the fourth consecutive win for the Pacers heading into back-to-back games beginning on Tuesday afternoon when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Pacers have business to take care of against the Cavs on Tuesday and then at Toronto on Wednesday night, but it is hard not to look forward to the home game on Saturday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. This game will cap a wild sports day in the Indy area which begins down in Bloomington at 2 p.m. ET with IU hosting Michigan State. Then at 4:30 p.m. the Colts play the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the AFC playoffs. Before that game ends, the Pacers will tip off against the 'Cans. Should be a wild day downtown and plenty of fun.
Speaking of fun, I love this plat from the win on Saturay as Luis Scola hits Paul George on a post pattern for an easy bucket. Safe to say, Kevin Garnett's better days as a defensive back are long gone.
