The Indiana Pacers host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Monday night. The Pacers are 2-0 against Western Conference teams with wins over New Orleans and Memphis so far this season.
Like the Pacers , the Timberwolves arrive at the Fieldhouse for their third game in four nights after losing at Houston on Saturday night. After a strong start to the season, Minnesota is 1-3 in their last four games while navigating a challenging stretch on the schedule.
The Wolve have plenty of weapons to give the Pacers problems, with Kevin Martin and Corey Brewer keeping the team on the run and Kevin Love back healthy this year to make a formidable front court tandem with center Nikola Pekovic. Any flavor of win by the Pacers tonight will be a quality win.
The Pacers should have a depth advantage, although Minnesota's depth will include former Purdue star, Robbie Hummel. It is simply fantastic to see Hummel, not only overcome the injuries he endured in college to make an NBA roster, but to also carve out time in the playing rotation for Rick Adelman. Great story. Minnesota hosts Denver on Wednesday which seems like a perfect game for Hummel to have a career night off the bench.
