The Indiana Pacers pulled a win out of their hat against the New York Knicks, erasing a night full of timely shots by New York and fourth quarter free throw woes to force an improbable OT that the Pacers dominated in. The Knicks led most of the way thanks to a 13-0 start, keeping the Pacers at bay every time Indiana got close. Even when Indiana jumped into the lead, the Knicks were quick to regain it. Indiana did themselves no favors in the game's final four minutes, going just 2-6, which allowed the Knicks to move up 89-86 with nine seconds left in the game.
But fortunes changed when Paul George was fouled on a three pointer by Iman Shumpert. George hit all three as Indiana forced OT, where he scored nine OT points as part of his 35 total to lead the Pacers to the OT win. George had five steals, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in the effort. George Hill had an on again, off again night, scoring 23 points, hitting key shots including four three pointers, but missing key shots and free throws. David West was the only other Pacer in double figures, as he totaled a 10 & 10 double double. Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 30 points and 18 rebounds. J.R. Smith had 21 and Beno Udrih scored 19 for New York.
