The Pacers and Fox Sports released a couple of updates regarding their broadcast coverage which expands the area where Pacers regular season game will be broadcast.
Fox Sports South will televise 27 games in Kentucky starting with the Pacers' home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. Fox Sports Midwest will also take the Pacers into Illinois, Iowa and Missouri, utilizing Fox Sports Midwest Plus to broadcast nearly a full schedule of games.
One reason the Fieldhouse is often filled with opposing fans for the big-name players and teams is that Indy is the best way fans in Lousiville, St. Louis, Chicago, Fort Wayne, Cincinnati and all parts in between can plan a big trip to see said certain player or team.
As the Pacers broadcasts infiltrate some of these areas, no doubt Paul George and the home team will start luring fans to the Fieldhouse regardless of the opponent.
Also, the deadline for NBA players coming off of their rookie deals to sign an early extension passed last night and among the players failing to work out an extension was former Butler/Brownsburg star, Gordon Hayward. The Jazz and Hayward reportedly worked on a deal up until the deadline passed without any success.
So now Hayward will become a restricted free agent next summer, going through the same process Roy Hibbert did when his rookie deal was up. The Jazz will have the option of matching any deal for Hayward.
