This Day in Pacers History: January 11

Danny Granger has some recent memories on this date — some good, some not so much. In 2003, Indiana beat Memphis to give them their 16th home win, best in the NBA at the time.

  • 1980: Mickey Johnson scored a game-high 28 points in a 110-105 win over the Bulls.
  • 1984: Kelly Tripucka and Vinnie Johnson's combined 49 points helped the Pistons beat the Pacers, 112-96.
  • 1986: Indiana had an off-night on the floor in comparison to Phoenix having a hot night in a 128-99 points-fest.
  • 1988: Wayman Tisdale put up a 22 point, nine rebound night that led the Pacers over the Clippers 111-90.
  • 1989: Chuck Person had a game-high 29 points while his team shot 60 percent as a whole in a much-needed 127-108 win over the Celtics.
  • 1992: Reggie Miller scored 30 points in a 138-115 win. In the 14th win for the Pacers, the fourth quarter was one of the hottest quarters on the entire season for Indiana with 41 points.
  • 1994: Antonio Davis was the leading scorer with 26 points in an 82-76 victorious defensive battle.
  • 1995: All five Celtics starters scored in double figures by shutting down Indiana late 100-97.
  • 1996: Kids, practice your free throws. They win you games, just as this one did for Indiana. Indiana made 22 to Milwaukee's nine in a 96-88 win.
  • 1997: Hersey Hawkins led the Sonics with 19 points as Seattle sent Indiana home with a 92-82 loss.
  • 2001: Reggie Miller led the way with 24 points, but the Pacers didn't shoot well and lost 93-85.
  • 2002: Jalen Rose's 38 points helped the Pacers beat the Bulls 97-90.
  • 2003: Jermaine O' Neal and Metta World Peace each scored 23 points that helped Indiana move to 16-1 at home via a 116-104 win over the Warriors.
  • 2005: Jermaine O' Neal reeled in 35 points and 12 rebounds, including two last second free throws, in a 86-85 road win in Memphis.
  • 2006: A 56 percent shooting night for the Pacers was beneficial in a 112-88 win over the Bucks.
  • 2009: Jamal Crawford hit a game-clinching three-pointer with 11 seconds left over Danny Granger to seal the win for the Warriors 120-117.
  • 2010: Before taking his talents to America and South Beach, Chris Bosh scored a game-high 27 points to give the Raptors a 105-101 win.
  • 2011: Danny Granger opened up the Pacer offense by delivering 27 points in a 111-103 win over Philly.
  • 2012: One year later, Granger was Indiana's go-to guy with 24 points while the defense was solid. For example, Indiana held Atlanta to nine points in the third quarter propelling the Pacers to a 96-84 win.
