The Indiana Pacers took some time to look back 25 years yesterday to remember the 1987 NBA Draft when Donnie Walsh disregarded public opinion and selected Reggie Miller with the 11th pick in the draft.
Pacers PR man David Benner was the local NBA scribe at the time, so he shares his thoughts on the draft. While the locals wanted IU's Steve Alford, Benner thought the Pacers would look elsewhere but was still surprised to hear Miller's name called. Great stuff from Benner and Conrad Brunner on the key pick in Pacers history.
