If the NBA playoffs started today the Indiana Pacers would play the Orlando Magic. Is it too late to let Dwight Howard switch sides?

According to a recent report, Dwight Howard expressed an interest in having Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw take over the Orlando Magic before the current season started.

Multiple sources close to Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard told Bright House Sports Network's David Baumann that prior to the season, Howard indicated that he preferred the Magic would have hired Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw or Golden State Warriors assistant coach Michael Malone to replace current Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy.

Shaw has been an excellent addition to the Pacers staff, so I can see Howard's motivation. In fact, this could create and interesting angle to the playoffs should the two teams meet in the first round. Stan Van Gundy is likely out regardless of how things play out, but if they go on a playoff run that may change. Then again, Howard may want to impress Shaw enough to lure him to coach the Magic but by playing well actually help the Magic and possibly Van Gundy...yeah, this is a mess in Orlando.

And it won't be the only job Shaw will have to entertain in the offseason.
