Frank Vogel channeled his inner Muhammed Ali following the Indiana Pacers win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night which locked up home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs. Vogelparaphrased 'The Champ' while complimenting forward David West for his outstanding play not long after Vogel ran out on the court to help defuse a ruckus that West stepped in to regulate.
"David West is a bad man, and I'm not talking about the altercation. He is playing at an extremely high level and driving this team to be great. I can't wait to see how far he leads us in the playoffs."
The Pacers are so tied together right now, defining every sense of the word team that it is simply remarkable. As George Hill mentioned in his post-game comments, if you step to one of the Pacers you're getting the whole crew. With the way the Pacers are able to execute when things get heated I'm starting to think stirring up junk with the opponent is a viable strategy.
The Pacers need one more win or an Atlanta loss to lock up the third seed which should leave them about a week to rest and prepare for the playoffs while closing up the regular season. Remarkable, indeed.
