The Indiana Pacers opened their game with the Washington Wizards in dominating fashion; jumping out to a double digit lead early in the first quarter with hot shooting. For as well as the Pacers shot, the Wizards shot the polar opposite, allowing the Pacers to balloon their lead up to 19 early in the second quarter. Unfortunately, second unit struggles, fouls, and turnovers allowed the Wizards to trim the lead all the way to seven, nine at half.
Indiana committed 10 turnovers in the second quarter alone as part of their 15 first half turnovers. Foul troubles have put the Wizards at the line 19 times, as four Pacers were benched by the half due to fouls. David West led the Pacers with 10 points and three blocks, as Roy Hibbert followed up with a solid first half performance of nine points. The Wizards were led by Jordan Crawford with 11.
