The Indiana Pacers showed more fight in the opening minutes than they showed all Wednesday night, jumping out to a 7-0 lead. The Dallas Mavericks immediately returned the favor as the two teams would go on to engage in an exciting see saw match through the first 24 minutes. The Pacers had much better effort, improved ball movement, and over 50% shooting. George Hill and David West led the Pacers with 10 apiece with Paul George following up with nine. O.J. Mayo (12) and Vince Carter (10) reached double figures for the Mavericks.
Darren Collison's return to Bankers Life Fieldhouse gave him four points and three assists in the half. The Pacers shot 54% and assisted on 12 of their 20 field goals. With this team, there's rarely ever just good news, and the team dealt the bad by shooting just 6-14 from the free throw line.
