The Indiana Pacers try to start their first winning streak of the season by backing up their win over Washington on Saturday with another W on Tuesday night against the Toronto Raptors at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Pacers slipped out of Toronto on opening night with a two-point win after David West went off in the fourth quarter and then George Hill scored the game-winning bucket to start the season on a winning note. It has only been a couple of weeks but things have changed for both teams.
The Pacers have yet to win consecutive games and continue trying to make the best of life without Danny Granger. Frank Vogel is using his third starting lineup with Lance Stephenson joining the first unit and against the Wizards, Vogel tightened the playing rotation to nine players.
Toronto is dealing with injuries, as well. Starting point guard Kyle Lowry is nursing an ankle sprain while Landry Fields is looking for answers to his shooting hand injury. The Raptors will play the Pacers on the back end of back-to-back games after playing the Utah Jazz on Monday night. Actually, it will be more like back-to-back-to-back for the Raps after they let a late lead slip away in regulation before losing in triple overtime. Bargnani, Calderon and DeRozan played big minutes. In fact, DeRozan played 60 minutes, scoring 37 points in the losing effort.
