The Indiana Pacers take on the Minnesota Timberwovlves tonight to begin preseason play. Let's start with what we won't see. Well, the game since it will not be televised. But never fear, with Mark Boyle providing the HD visuals on the radio call, following along won't be a problem.
Also missing tonight in Fargo will be Danny Granger as the Pacers continue to ease the forward and his left knee into regular season form. Along those lines, David West and Roy Hibbert aren't expected to see much action either. On the Minnesota side, the Timberwolves will be short some back court help with Ricky Rubio still recovering from major knee surgery and Luke Ridnour and Malcom Lee not making the trip.
As for what we will see (through some random highlights at some point), the Pacers second unit expects to play plenty as new faces continue working to blend in with the team's schemes at both ends of the floor while learning to play alongside one another.
Minnesota expects to play the remainder of their starting lineup with Kevin Love welcoming newcomers Andrei Kirilinko and Brandon Roy. For more on the Timberwolves, check out Canis Hoopus.
So, yes it is preseason, but the journey begins for the Pacers as they prepare for the 2012-13 regular season. Enjoy the ride and share your thoughts and observations in the comments.
