The Indiana Pacers play the first of back-to-back games against the New York Knicks this evening when they take on the Knickerbockers at Madison Square Garden. The two teams will return to Indy for a rematch on Tuesday.

For the Pacers, this game also marks the start of a lethal stretch of games that could be the death blow their playoff hopes. Well, the technical death blow that actually knocks them down the standings. I'd say the bad losses to Minnesota and Toronto were the fatal strikes to any hope for the Pacers.

The Knicks expect Chauncey Billups back in a starting lineup that now includes form IU and Bloomington North small forward Jared Jeffries. The versatile game Jeffries has shown since high school is coming in handy for his NBA career because he's been playing center for the Knicks. That should present an opportunity for Roy Hibbert and the Pacers front court to make an impact on the game.

Here is the preview.
