The Pacers have been thrust into several national stories of late with everyone's job apparently up for grabs. Along with the players mentioned in trade rumors this week, there have been various other stories questioning the future of Jim O'Brien, GM David Morway and presdident Larry Bird.
Interestingly, there is a Portland tie-in to a few of the storylines since they've been mentioned as a possible trade partner with the New York Knicks for Anthony Randolph. Plus, former Portland GM, Kevin Pritchard is the name mentioned as a likely candidate to join the Pacers' front office after reports surfaced earlier this week about Pritchard travelling with the Pacers.
One thing that seems clear, the Pacers aren't in a hurry to make any moves with the coach or front office until after ther season which continues tonight. The Pacers will have to bring their defensive game tonight to hope to slow down Portland. The Blazers shot over 56% in their last win over the Clippers so when if they get it going from outside again the Blazers will be too much for the Pacers to handle.
Roy Hibbert re-joined the Pacers and is a game-time decision depending on how he feels this evening. The Pacers will need all of the front-court help they can get to counter LaMarcus Aldridge. The Portland power forward has been a monster during the Blazers' current four-game winning streak.
The other sub-plot that has developed on the Pacers' roadie is the playing rotation, as JOB took more strides toward a full-on youth movement in the last game by playing A.J Price at backup point guard. But tonight is a different night, so we'll have to wait until the game to figure out how the minutes are distributed.
Here's the Pacers.com preview.
