The Indiana Pacers are back in familiar territory on the road out west, desperate for a win as they face the Golden State Warriors tonight.
Not only are the Pacers trying to find some solid footing in the form of a win to stop their slide backwards but they may be short-handed, not to mention considerably shorter, with the news that Roy Hibbert may miss the game due to an upper respiratory infection. Considering the Dubs lineup and style of play, the Pacers are more likely to utilize a small lineup for the bulk of the game anyway, so this may be as good a game as any for Hibbert to miss. According to Mike Wells, if Hibby can't go, Josh McRoberts will dust off his hi-tops and get the start.
Speaking of small, Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry should present the Pacers with more than enough problems as both guards can light it up on a moment's notice. Mixing in some length with Brandon Rush and Paul George to combine with Darren Collison should help keep the GSW guards from getting off on the perimeter.
The Pacers offense has been admittedly streaking but still trending in the right direction. Danny Granger and Collison will have to keep the flow they had going in L.A. along with a little more help. Mike Dunleavy should be due to fill in tonight after his 1 for 10 shooting effort in the last game.
Tip tonight is at 10:30PM local time in Indy. Gonna need some company tonight people. Hopefully the action on the court will keep us awake.
