The Mavs are banged up to say the least, with All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki missing the past seven games to rest a knee injury. Nowitzki is reportedly expected to miss tonight's game as well, which should help the Pacers in their search for favorable matchups. The Mavs are 2-5 without Dirk and with Caron Butler and Rodrigue Beaubois also out the Mavs are running pretty small which might entice Jim O'Brien to start a small lineup himself, similar to the crew that finished things off last night with Mike Dunleavy, Brandon Rush and Danny Granger on the floor at the same time.
A lot of those players for the Pacers played a lot of minutes last night though, so there should be an opportunity for Paul George to slip in for more action tonight.
Don't cry too much for the Mavs though, with Jason Kidd and one of my favs, Jason Terry running the backcourt they will be expecting nothing short of a win. Let's hope the Pacers play with that same sense of urgency.
