The Indiana Pacers are no longer out of sight nor out of mind.
Tonight the Pacers are in Philadelphia to play the 76ers and the game will be televised back to the home market on Fox Sports Indiana. Hopefully that broadcast will include some improved play from the Pacers who should match up much better with the Sixers than they did against the Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday night.
Of course, in their last trip to Philly the Pacers lost by 26 points and it wasn't even that close. The Sixers are expected to be without Andre Iguodala (update: Iggy is now expected to play), always a tough guard for the Pacers. Indiana's key players and Jim O'Brien have been saying all of the right things lately about taking responsibility for the poor play of the team and working toward solutions, so tonight is a chance to let their actions speak for them which would be a far more effective way to start making this season interesting again.
A loss tonight would move the Pacers behind the Sixers in the Eastern Conference standings and depending on how Milwaukee's game goes out of the playoff slots altogether. Of course, as Mike Dunleavy mentioned, unless the Pacers upgrade their level of play, that slide out of playoff position is inevitable.
