The Indiana Pacers host the "reeling" Boston Celtics tonight at Conseco Fieldhouse. Yes, a single loss after winning 14 straight may have to suffice as reeling for this year's Celtics. So after dropping their Christmas Day matinee to the Orlando Magic, the C's will be looking to get back on the winning track against the Pacers.
The Pacers are also looking to bounce back with a win after their frustrating loss to Memphis on Sunday. Offensive woes have held the Pacers back of late and the Boston defense won't make it easy for Indiana to solve those problems.
This is one of those games where you just have to start out hoping for a diligent effort at both ends of the floor from the Pacers and then let the chips fall where they may. A great game from the Pacers could still result in a 10-point loss, but there's no chance for the win without improving on the play we saw on Sunday.
The scary thing about this Boston team is that they are still without Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins, two key players to their success in the recent past. When the Celtics beat the Pacers a little over a week ago, Paul Pierce ran things with key contributions from Nate Robinson and Big Baby Davis. Hopefully the Pacers don't find themselves getting out-worked by the Boston role players again tonight.
