Indiana Pacers co-owner and major mall developer Mel Simon has died at the age of 82.

Mr. Simon made a huge impact in many lives in and around Indiana. Around here he is most fondly remembered for teaming up with his brother Herb Simon to save the Indiana Pacers in the early 1980's and then stewarding the team into becoming a highly respected NBA franchise.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Simon family today.
