The Indiana Pacers finish up their two-day roadie at the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night. The Spurs return home after playing in a buzzer-beater themselves yesterday in Charlotte. Of course, the Spurs swatted away the game-winning attempt by the Bobcats to move their record to 27-13. The Spurs have won seven of their last nine and appear settled into a playing rotation with Bruce Bowen and Manu Ginobili coming off the bench. Not sure that's legal, let alone fair, but whatever.

The Spurs have also brought along former Broad Ripple Rocket/IUPUI Jag, George Hill and squeezed some nice production out of the rookie. I loved watching Hill in high school as a skinny yet lethal scorer who just needed a glimpse of daylight to launch his soft shot which usually went in. The kid was a scoring machine. I swear I saw an opponent throw a triangle and two at Hill, except the triangle focused on Hill while the other two hung around the hoop. That was a tough 30-point night for George. As fun as he was to watch in high school, I never imagined the skinny gunner would make his way to the NBA, let alone playing a role for the Spurs in his rookie year which doesn't rely on his offense. In fact, he's not even shooting that well so far. Great local hoops story which just makes me want to stand an applaud the effort Hill has put into developing his game.

Here are the Pacers.com matchups. I haven't seen anything negative on minimal minutes Marquis Daniels played last night so it appears he'll be active again tonight. Can't imagine he'll be in much better shape than he was last night so don't expect too many mintues tonight either. Of course, with this Pacers team the only surprise would be no surprise.
