Open Game Thread #55: Pacers vs. Nets

The Indiana Pacers host the New Jersey Nets tonight in the first game of a weekend home-and-home. Since Jason Kidd is no longer around and Devin Harris is injured, the matchup is pretty even. The Pacers remain without Jermaine O'Neal and Jamaal Tinsley. I think their candid non-team approved comments about their health continue to sound like the unvarnished truth. Here's Bruno's Scouting Report which focuses on the irony of Vince Carter and the Nets visiting Indy the day after the trade deadline. Fortunately, Carter is still in a Nets uni. If the Pacers are stuck with a monster contract I'd rather have J.O. Of course, if he could play, all the better.

Here's what the efficiency numbers say:

Team Pace Off.Eff. Def.Eff.
IND 96.2(3rd) 106.1(19th) 108.4(17th)
NJN 89.6(17th) 104.0(25th) 109.3(21st)

Projected Starters
PACERS pos. NETS
Mike Dunleavy F Richard Jefferson
Troy Murphy F Nenad Krstic
Jeff Foster C Josh Boone
Danny Granger G Vince Carter
Travis Diener G Marcus Williams

Feel free to leave your thoughts on the game in the comments.
