The Jazz would also like to announce a trade. The Jazz send newly drafted Koponen, their second-round pick (#55), and a 2010 second-rounder for the #31 and #35 second-round picks belonging to the Seattle Sonics.
So the Supes move up to nail down the future at point guard. Brian from SoincsCentral explains the move.

Knowing that they have limited space available on their roster the SuperSonics consolidate their two high second rounders to move ahead of teams like San Antonio and Phoenix (the Clippers in this scenario) and make sure that they get the man they want.
Koponen is an unknown quantity but GM Sam Presti has a history of european scouting and the Sonics number one need at this time is a PG with size. Koponen was one of the teams first workout invitees and this last weekend they took a second opportunity to look him over at a multi-team workout in NY. The team considers Rudy Fernandez and Gabe Pruit at this spot but based on the second workout takes a flyer on Koponen.
