Big ups to fellow Husky alum, Brandon Roy for winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award! Blazer's Edge is celebrating the recognition and has all the details.
This is a case of good things happening to good people. When BRoy left Garfield High School he thought his game might just be NBA-ready. He found out it wasn't, then had a couple of setbacks that humbled his game and left him with choices. Look for excuses, find someone to blame, and then fade into a has been or listen to the right people, perfect a relentless work ethic, do all you can do and then let the results speak for themselves. In choosing the latter, BRoy not only developed a very NBA-ready, all-around game, but also matured into the type of player and person often referred to as a pro's pro. Not too shabby for a rook.
