Dennis Johnson passed away today after collapsing on the court while coaching the Austin Toros of the D-League. Please soak in all of the retrospective information on the ultimate combo guard. Larry Joe Legend had this to say on DJ's passing.
"Dennis was a great player, one of the best teammates I ever had, and a wonderful person," said Bird, now president of the Indiana Pacers. "My thoughts and condolences are with his family at this difficult time."
I grew up on DJ, following his career closely. First as an athletic guard leading the Supes to the 1979 championship. Then, as a less athletic but incredibly intelligent floor leader for the great Celtic teams. The memories of his career make me smile. Rest in peace, DJ.
