Save Our Sonics

I'm heading out to Seattle tomorrow and look forward to immersing myself in the latest news that Howard Schultz may actually try to save the Sonics. Here's to hoping this isn't some rope-a-dope strategy by Schultz to feign an effort to save the Supes while actually only trying to save his image. The phrase of the day is good faith, Mr. Schultz. We'll be watching you, too.

Hopefully the Simons will side with the city when voting on the potential move. David Stern seems to be stuffing this thing through but it can't hurt to let the Simons know that the Supes should stay in Seattle.

Sir may I say a few things
First off if Schultz is so mad about this why not file a suit earlier? I read the times story today too. It was very late when I did read it, but I read it. The only way the Sonics are going to stay is if the city sues Bennett to honor the lease. That's the only way Bennett can't use the OKC leverage, which I think some are forgetting, because the bill that got passed had a provision that a NBA team had to be in OKC by 2009 for a team to utilize the money. Either way, and I say this, it would be bad for the NBA if the Sonics moved to OKC. That's not necessarily true of the Grizzlies or the Hornets, but that is definitely true of the Sonics.

It is a shame
Seems like Stern is just stuffing this thing through, too, which drives me nuts.

I wrote this on my diary last night on StR
but, what I don't understand is why he's so pissed off at the legislature earmarking for UW. You know better than I I'm sure how much of a money generator UW sports is at it's peak. David Stern is bitter he coudln't get what he wanted here, and he's acting like a Napoleonite Jew.

Save Sonics-- Protect Pacers
Sonics and Pacers have many similarities.

Both were formed in 1967!
Both have very strong fan bases and have a strong regional identity!
Both were among elite teams throughout the 1990s!
Both are currently on a downhill slide.

Save the Sonics!!
Protect the Pacers!!!!
