Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Jamaal Tinsley and Marquis Daniels Off The Hook

Well, that was quick. With the threat of a three to four day trial including 20 plus witnesses, Jamaal Tinsley and Marquis Daniels accpeted diversion agreements allowing them to avoid a trial. Anything to avoid reliving that nasty episode.

Diversion, different from a guilty plea, is similar to pleading "no contest" in some states. Before Marion Superior Court Judge Lisa Borges, Tinsley and Daniels admitted only that there was probable cause for their indictments -- not that they were guilty as charged.
Sounds like the witness accounts of the evening varied enough to keep Tins and Quisy away from any serious charges. If that was the case, why did this trial keep getting moved and remain unresolved until the last second? Oh, well, lawyers gotta get paid, too.
