Bob Knight Didn't Go To Work Today

Hoosier coaching legend, Bob Knight took his 902 wins and went home Monday afternoon. With his son, Pat already set to take over the Red Raiders, Coach Knight decided he'd had enough. Hopefully, there are no health issues and other family problems at work here.

Here's a nice overview of the peaks and valleys of Coach Knight's career. It seems like we've already been through this Knight retrospective before. Oh, yeah, we have, but this time it appears to be for good. I must say, I tired of his act as I matured but the man's body of work speaks for itself with no apologies. Fortunately, he was able to finish his career at Texas Tech without the drama and on his own terms. Naturally.

Second mention
The headline I heard on news- (as opposed to sports-)radio was "Bob Knight overshadows the Super Bowl!"

What kind of play is this story getting in Indiana? Is he still beloved, or perceived as perhaps more human?

Knight still brings out a reaction
The Indy Star has a full compliment of reports with local reaction and former player reaction. It does seem strange that he shut it down in the middle of the season.

Among IU fans there are those who remain glad he left the school when he did, but there are plenty more that wish he'd take over for Kelvin Sampson tomorrow.
