Uh, yeah. The NBA has a yet unnamed ref caught up in a mob investigation in which the ref is accused of officiating the game toward the correct side of a point spread. Fabulous.

I'm not into conspiracy theories revolving around David Stern and the referees, but there's certainly a good chunk of small market fans who do believe the reffing is biased toward the big market teams and big time players. The mob investigation is a separate issue, but a bright light will now shine on all shady calls. I'm looking forward to David Stern's respons.
