SBNation NBA Awards

The SBNation NBA bloggers decided we should to hand out some awards for the regular season and we're turning over the voting power to the people. Each site will post an open thread for each category, allowing readers to vote on any one of the sites. There's no electoral college in effect so all of the votes from all of the blogs will be compiled for Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, 6th Man of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Most Valuable Player. For all the details, check out this Bullets Forever post.

Since the "Lottery Blogs" won't be scrambling to hype their playoff coverage (sigh), some of us (sigh) will be posting the results for the various categories. Here's a tentative schedule to look for.

  • Tuesday, April 24: Green Bandwagon will unveil the winner of the Rookie of the Year Award.
  • Wednesday, April 25: Indy Cornrows will reveal the Most Improved Player, and Blazers Edge will present the 6th Man award.
  • Thursday, April 26: Posting and Toasting will present the Defensive Player of the Year, and then Clips Nation will tell you the Coach of the Year.
  • Friday, April 27: Bullets Forever will unveil who won the Most Valuable Player.
Don't forget ot check out these other SBNation blogs for some great playoff coverage. Let me know if you have any questions. The Rookie of the Year open thread will be posted soon.

Point of clarification
Sactown Royalty was initially supposed to present the MVP, but he deflected responsibility to me.

Sadly, the Wizards are not a lottery team, although it seems that way now.

Good point
I was going to throw in a crack about the Wizards being out of the playoffs by the time the MVP would be announced, but held back since I appreciate your effort in organizing vote.
