Trial for Stephen Jackson Moved

Stephen Jackson's trial which was slated to get underway on Thursday, has been moved to May 10th.

Matthew Symons, spokesman for the Marion County Prosecutor's office, said Jackson's attorneys requested the continuance of the trial scheduled for Thursday. Symons did not know why.

"It's not in any way unusual," he said. "The defendant has a right to a speedy trial. If they waive that right, there really isn't any limit to how many times it can be pushed back."
In case you are wondering, "Now which Pacer legal issue is this?" I understand it is hard to keep track sometimes, so here is the issue at hand:
Jackson has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of criminal recklessness and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct for his role in a fight outside Club Rio in October, when he was playing for the Indiana Pacers. Jackson said he fired shots in the air from his pearl-handled 9 mm pistol to try to break up the fight.
The Warriors are in a battle royale for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs. They've been smokin' lately so I'm sure Jack didn't want to disrupt whatever is making the Dubs go right now. You would think he could make it back for the Friday game at Sacramento, but then again, maybe his lawyers aren't sure of a positive outcome which would cause a media distraction. Whatever the case, if the Warriors are still alive on May 10th I'd assume they will push it back again, and be quite happy to do so.
