Pacers 106, Heat 103: Pacers Take Home Another Road W

I was out for a festive holiday evening with friends and missed all but the final two minutes of the Pacers 106-103 win. With other family plans, I won't be able to watch the game until tomorrow night. So if anyone can fill me in on the 46 minutes I missed, I'd love to hear it. Here's the AP recap for the nuts and bolts.

Judging by the finish and the box score, this game was back and forth much of the night. It's kind of nice to catch a tight win at the end without going through the stressful ups and downs inherent with any Pacer game these days. Although, I love the good, the bad, the ups, and the downs regardless of the result. But I'm sick that way.

There are a few items of interest I need to explore after looking over the stats.

The Pacers won despite finishing the game with a lower field goal percentage than the Heat, a very rare occurrence.

Jermaine O'Neal had a nice stretch run in the fourth quarter and finished with 24 points. Is he hurt, though?

Jamaal Tinsley shoulder the bulk of the scoring burden tonight finishing with 26 points. 27 shot attempts including 8 from 3-land seems a bit excessive.

Nice to see Kareem Rush continues to stroke it from inside and out. To get some consistent scoring help from Rush would be HUGE.

The Heat were only 3 of 14 from 3-land. Good perimeter defense or off-night for the Heat? Limiting them to 14 attempts has to indicate a better defensive effort.

The Pacers are now 7-5 on the road as they head to New York to take on the Knicks. It goes without saying that the Pacers must take care of the Knicks, but for now let's just take 'em one at a time, so tonight it's time to enjoy the W over Miami.
