Pacers Join Unbeaten Elite In Indy Today

In case you haven't heard, there's this little football game in town today between the undefeated Indianapolis Colts and the undefeated and fire-breathing New England Patriots. Well, Jim O'Brien was hoping there'd be another undefeated team in town this morning, and his hopes were realized.

"We wanted to wake up in Indianapolis as one of three teams that's undefeated in pro sports," Pacers coach Jim O'Brien said in reference to today's showdown between the Colts and New England Patriots at the RCA Dome. "I think our guys are a resilient group and they wanted to leave here 3-0."

Pacers Notebook tells us Michael Conley is working hard to be prepared when his opportunity to play arrives. No doubt he'll be ready. Also, O'B is amazed at the way his Pacer team practices. Seems to be paying off.

Rudy Gay

Interesting to see the low grade the Memphis blogger gave Gay, and the coach's reported gesture towards the bench when Gay blew a defensive cover...interesting when compared to the fact that Rudy was in the NBA-TV top 10 plays of the day twice for that game.

Those mixed signals could play with a young man's head. But maybe he'll pay more attention to the coach than the media.

And it's sure nice NOT to see any griping in the open forums about the individual Pacers' performance or work ethic so far. Oh, some are still griping about past history, but nothing but good things heard and read about this year.

Memphis has some talent, but most is young

and needs to be managed. Like you say, that istn't easy when they can hear mixed messages outside the locker room.

I was hoping the Pacers gave Iavaroni a shot at the head job, thinking in a couple of years he'd have the Pacers running a high octane, Phoenix style attack. I'm much happier they went with O'B who has given us the a potent offense from day one.
