Report: C.J. Miles is a Pacer

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers are not sitting around and waiting for Lance Stephenson. Showing some aggression, the Pacers have added to the backcourt by signing C.J. Miles.

Candace Buckner has reported that the Indiana Pacers are going to sign guard C.J. Miles.

Miles spent last season in Cleveland where he averaged 9.86 points and shot 39.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc. He only played in 51 games, starting 31 of them. He sustained an ankle injury on February 19 that essentially ended his season.

Miles would look to bolster the Indiana bench, or potentially become a starter if Lance Stephenson doesn’t re-sign with Indiana.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Miles’ contract is for $18 million over four years. And according to Zach Lowe, the Pacers will pay Damjan Rudez $1.1 million, which would leave Indiana around $5 million from the luxury tax.

Luis Scola is still an option to be released, which could save Indiana $2 million more for pursuing Stephenson.
