Rodney Stuckey is.... a Pacer! (and Lance is not)

Just ran across this report-- I will assume that this is true, but:

Sam Amick: Rodney Stuckey has agreed to join the Indiana Pacers on a one-year deal, @USATODAYsports has learned. Nice pickup after losing Stephenson. Twitter @sam_amick

WOW that was quick! Never thought that today I'd write an article with the above title, but evidently this is the case.

As far as the pickup, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. My initial reaction is that the Pacers picked a player that on paper sounds like a poor man's Lance-- he has similar size and height to Lance, and played the same type of role for a period of time with Detroit that Lance had here-- except that he is nowhere as effective as Lance. Rumors about the Pacers' interest in him circulated around the time Stephenson and Pacers' management met for the 2nd time, and of course they were quickly dismissed-- this also seems like it was closer to the truth than we knew!

Knowing the Pacers' salary situation, this was either for the 'Vet minimum' or it was for part of the Danny Granger trade exception. If it wasn't, then not sure how they acquired him-- sign and trade maybe? I'm sure terms will come out soon.

So, what does everyone make of this move??
