Pacers vs. Wizards Links: Pacers have second chance to put away Wizards while Heat wait for winner

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers are back in D.C. for the second of three chances to closeout the Wizards. Meanwhile, the Heat took care of business down the stretch on Wednesday to beat the Nets and advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

The Indiana Pacers try to bounce back from a confounding performance in Game 5 when they visit the Wizards for Game 6 on Thursday night.

The Pacers gave the Wiz new life with their lifeless performance in Indy on Tuesday and now have to direct all of their focus toward the task at hand in D.C. before considering what is lying in wait should they win. It would be nice to think history is on the side of the Pacers when you consider Washington hasn't won a home playoff game in the second round since 1979. Unfortunately, this is only their third trip to the second round since that last win.

Nope, the Pacers can only rely on themselves to play better and seize the opportunity in front of them tonight.

Should they do so, the Pacers would advance to the Eastern Conference finals to face the Miami Heat once again. The NBA released the ECF schedule contingent on the Pacers winning Game 6. If the Pacers lose, the winner of Game 7 will begin the ECF on Tuesday.
