The Indiana Pacers remain in a tight race for the top spot in the East with Hawks in town to wrap up the regular season series between the teams.
The Pacers hold a 2-1 advantage over Atlanta, a team that has battled various injuries throughout the year but continues to hang on to the eighth seed in the East by one game over the Knicks. Of course, the Pacers are battling themselves more than battling for a playoff seed at this point. After another loss on the road in Toronto on Friday night, they will try to get a little home cookin' going and deliver a W for Sunday supper. That will require a concerted defensive effort as the Hawks will likely try to spread the floor to minimize Roy Hibbert's impact around the rim.
Atlanta center Pero Antic didn't play in the Pacers' two wins over Atlanta, but was a big problem when the Hawks beat the Pacers in Atlanta in their first meeting. The big fella tried to drag Roy Hibbert away from the rim but the Pacers left him alone too often and he knocked down three of six back-breaking three pointers. Atlanta has all of the parts, including enough help at each position off the bench to remain a matchup challenge for the Pacers. Combine that fact with their incentive to make the playoffs, and the Pacers will have to be on top of their game at home.
