The Pacers have fallen victim to too much "hero ball" of late, with offensive possessions left in the hands of one man trying to find a bucket. But as they head into Game 4, the Pacers desperately need a hero. Not a player to go one-on-five, but a player or two (three?) to rise to the occasion and deliver big plays at either end of the floor. Winning plays rooted in a championship-level effort.
Paul George? David West? Name your Pacer, the talent is available but the will to make it happen was absent in Game 3. Gotta find that will to be great now.
That includes Frank Vogel. Adjustments define success in a seven-game playoff series and if the method for beating the Hawks takes the Pacers out of their comfortable rotations, so be it. No one cares if the Pacers do it their way, they just need to do it.
