After a sluggish first quarter on both ends, the Indiana Pacers clip a 12-point deficit to five thanks to a strong second quarter against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Pacers were able to win the second quarter 29-22 despite a huge second quarter from Damian Lillard, who scored 14 of his 20 first half points in the second quarter. The Pacers getting clobbered on the glass being short Lance Stephenson, getting outrebounded 25-15 with zero offensive rebounds.
The real advantage the Pacers have found is allowing just six points in the paint, forcing the Blazers to beat them with the jumper, which thanks to Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge, happened in the first half. George Hill has been tremendous on both ends, scoring 12 points on 5-7 shooting with a pair of steals. David West has seven points. Big second half coming.
