Indiana had 14 first half turnovers, which coupled with a late flurry of points from the Hawks gave them a halftime lead 43-42. Indiana's defense in the third quarter stepped up and held Atlanta to just 12 points as Lance Stephenson was injured when attacking the basket, landing awkwardly and injuring his lower back. He stayed in the game, but was taken to the locker room and did not return to the game.

The Pacers meanwhile, built up a 16-point fourth quarter lead, but the Hawks fought back over the game's final eight minutes to cut the lead to two with just 14 seconds left. West hit some big shots down the stretch to maintain the lead before Danny Granger sunk in the game sealing free throws with four seconds remaining. West had a 22 point, 10 rebound double double as there Pacers reached double figures. Paul George had 18 and seven rebounds and Stephenson finished with 10 points, though the two combined for 11 of Indiana's 19 turnovers. The win snaps a 12-game regular season losing streak against the Hawks in Atlanta.
