Pacers Links: Pacers dip into their reserves to beat Magic, leave plenty in the tank for Hawks

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers should be in pretty good shape physically for their trip to the 'House of Horrors' in Atlanta for their second game in as many nights.

The Indiana Pacers have a tough enough time trying to beat the Hawks in Atlanta under normal circumstances so making the trek to the ATL on the business end of a back-to-back adds to the grind.

Fortunately, the Pacers were able to lean on their bench to put away the Orlando Magic on Monday night and which allowed Frank Vogel to manage the minutes of his starters. Danny Granger and Luis Scola both came to life to deliver an offensive punch that has been missing for a couple of weeks, while C.J. Watson played heavy point guard minutes to give George Hill's poor shooting night and aching toe more time on the bench.

Granger drained a trio of threes from the left corner, looking so comfortable I'm not sure he should ever leave that spot on offense. Just spot him up and open up space for some four-on-four sets daring the D to leave DG open for his shot.

No starters came close to playing over 30 minutes aside from Lance Stephenson who played 37 minutes. Of course, there's never any fear of Stephenson running out of energy while on the court. Paul George played a little less than 27 minutes to keep his MP total below 30 minutes for only the fourth time this season. He was under 30 due to foul trouble in a win over Toronto and then also took it easy during blow out wins over Boston and Charlotte.

So now the Pacers try to break the hex at Philips Arena where they've lost 12 consecutive regular season games. This would be a good night to get over the hump in Atlanta with the Hawks continuing to deal with injuries while the Pacers should be in good shape to dig in for 48 minutes of fun.
