The Pacers face a six-game stretch before the All-Star game starting tonight against Orlando. The Pacers need to raise their recent level of play and if they do the opportunity is there to expand their lead in the East.
The Pacers tip off a busy week that begins and ends with games against the Orlando Magic on Monday night. The Magic and rookie Victor Oladipo visit the Fieldhouse tonight and then the two teams meet again on Sunday at Orlando. The former IU high-flyer is averaging around 14 points, 4 four assists and over four rebounds so far in his rookie year.
The Magic games are sandwiched around a pair of tough games at Atlanta on Tuesday and then back home on Friday against Portland. Starting off strong with a win over Orlando should help build a little momentum for the Pacers to try to avenge their losses to the Hawks and Blazers earlier in the season.
The Pacers have just six games remaining before the All-Star break while trying to shake a stretch of less than stellar play. With four of those six games at home, the Pacers should focus on a 6-0, 5-1 finish before the break.
The Pacers currently hold a three-game lead over Miami with the Heat set to hit the road for a tough West Coast trip later this week which should give the Pacers a chance to expand their lead by taking care of business...starting tonight.
